Current students may be able to use part- or full-time jobs in an internship ~ a career-oriented work experience where students earn university credits. The Biology Department has a strong commitment toward helping our students prepare for jobs in their chosen field. Each week we post a list of biology-related jobs in the Pacific Northwest (see "Jobs List" below to link to current listing). Students and alumni are encouraged to check out thecurrent jobs listing,local employer list, andother resourceson our web site and in the department.

Primarily entry-level positions and part-time (experience-gaining) jobs are listed. Contact employers directly for additional information about the position or to apply. We also maintain a list of companies with previously-advertised positions. Contact them directly to see if they:
- Have current openings;
- Anticipate hiring in the future; and/or
- Keep resumes on file to contact as needed.
Each entry contains either the position that was advertised (with job duties and qualifications) or simply lists all the positions the company has posted. Where to Obtain More Jobs Information
The following links take you to various resources that specialize in biology-related jobs.
- U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service job listing (http://www.ars.usda.gov/careers/) includes plant, animal, aquatics, insects, and soil-related jobs across the United States. The "Other" listings are entry-level jobs and may be an excellent opportunity to pursue. You can sign up to have the list e-mailed to you.
- Access Excellence (http://www.accessexcellence.org/AB/CC/) has links to careers in Biotechnology as well as The Biotechnology Career Guide resource.
- Bio.com (http://www.bio.com/careercenter) is a job resource center where you can post resumes and look for jobs in science. References and articles provide assistance in getting a science-related job.
- BioMedNet (http://jobs.bmn.com) lists jobs and resources for medical and life science fields.
- Undergraduate Research in Biology (http://firstmarket.com/fitzroy) provides summer and part-time positions available to students.
- Science Careers (http://www.sciencecareers.org) is a database of science jobs (many for biology).
