Note: Additional test sessions will be scheduled in Fall Qtr '08.

APTP MPT is offered at EWU Campus, as scheduled above and  test pre-registration is not required. However, you should arrrive at the testing room at least 15 miniutes early to check-in and allow 90 minutes for the test instructions &  testing time.

Before the test:

You will need to determine what type of APTP MPT that you will take, so refer to the descriptions below:
Intermediate (MPTI) is taken if you passed through equivalent of Algebra II in high school and  plan to take Math 104/114/105/115/200/or 211.
Advanced (MPTA) is taken if you passed Pre-Calculus and/or Calculus in high school and plan to take Math 106/ 380/ or 161. 
Retest Policy - Examinees may take each type of math placement test, Intermediate (MPTI) and Advanced (MPTA), twice within any one calendar year period, with a minimum two-week wait between retaking the same test type.  However, those examinees who took the Advanced (MPTA) may choose to take the Intermediate (MPTI) when it is offered and vice versa.  A fee of $25 is required for each retest.

If you have a documented disability that requires special accommodation, then prior test session contact Disability Support Services Office (509) 359-4706.
*Practice test sample problems pn the website http://www.ewu.edu/x5927.xml or pick up a set from the Mathematics Department Office in Kingston 216.

Pre-pay the $25 APTP MPt fee to the Student Financial Services in Sutton Hall (2nd floor).
*
Bring your receipt & photo-ID card and two #2 lead pencils to the testing room - scratch paper is  provided.
At test time:
*
Test Registration - show your receipt & photo-ID card to the test proctor.
* A calculator or any other similar aid is not allowed during the test.
* 60 minutes are allowed to take the test.  Unless you previously arranged for extended testing time through Disability Support Services Office at (509) 359-4706.
* Examinees who finish the test earlier than alloted time are required to leave the testing room

After the test:

To obtain  test score the examinee will need to show their photo-ID card to an Academic Advisor or Math Department Staff in Office Kingston 216.
* To determine your math course placement refer to APTP MPT Cut-Off Score List http://www.ewu.edu/x5927.xml .
* If you graduate from high school graduate within the last year and placed into MATH 105 or 106 level then review  MATH 106 or 161 Enrollment Exception Policy.
